Participant Guidelines

1. Participants must complete this course without missing any sessions except for emergency, health or bereavement reasons, so they avoid delaying the court process. In the event of being absent for an urgent reason, the participants will have to generally wait 5 sessions to attend the particular session missed.
2. Participants must bring with them their summary sheet given at registration to record information for the five sessions as this has to be shown to the magistrate when you return to court.
3. Participants may elect to return to the Court without completing the course.
4. Participants must arrive 15 minutes before any session (by 6:45pm) to enable enough time to sign in each night. Session starts 7:00pm SHARP, so phone if you're running late.
5. Participants must not turn up under the influence of any alcohol or other drug on any day they are attending the program. If they do, they will be asked to leave.
6. Participants must display an acceptable standard of behaviour while attending the program. This program is voluntary and our presenters are all volunteers, so if a participant does not wish to be there to learn, then we respectfully ask that they do not come. If a person is disruptive, security will ask that person to leave.
7. Participants must sign an indemnity form for insurance purposes relating to the program.
8. Participants must make payment of $150. EFTPOS is available at the hall and payment is accepted between 6.30 - 6:45 pm every Tuesday night. Account declined will mean no entry as cash is not accepted on the night. Credit cards will incur 1.5% bank fees.

Alternatively, bring a money order from the Post Office made payable to GCTOP for $150.00 on your first night.

9. Participants must bring a photo ID each night they attend as entry cannot be offered without the photo identification.

10. Upon completing the program; the participants must complete their summary sheets outlining the benefits of the program, demonstrating knowledge they have acquired from the program and this completion must be signed off by the co-ordinator which is then to be handed to the magistrate when the participants are being sentenced.
